This paper presents “Bevalhabism” as a theory of personal growth – a framework for understanding the fundamental role of beliefs, values and habits (BVH) in determining the result of an individual’s endeavour. The BVH analytical system was first proposed in the book, The 3 Most Powerful Success Determinants (Nakolisa, 2020), excerpts of which were published online in 2022 (Nakolisa, 2022). The current paper is an updated version of the online publication. The paper explains the bevalhabismic principle of personal growth or bevalhabism, further clarifying the idea by introducing new concepts and analytical tools devised not only to boost the author’s expository thrusts but also to serve as instruments by which others can evaluate the direction of their beliefs, values and habits. Some of these new tools include the belief-values-habit (BVH) formulations and tables designed to enhance the individual’s ability to analyze and understand their own and other people’s behaviour and motives. The paper’s theoretical and practical insights are framed within the author’s bevalhabismic paradigm and are presented as processes by which individuals can utilize beliefs, values and habits to determine the outcome of their undertakings.
