Abstract

This paper seeks to address the reasons for this untoward situation. It interrogates the place of leadership in the state of governance in the Nigerian nation- state. In order to effectively embark on this task, this paper is divided into three sections. The first defines and clarifies the basis concepts in this paper. The second will attempt to highlight the performance of past Nigerian leaders in order to establish the extent the leadership they offered the nation stunted hindered or fostered good governance and thereby establish a nexus between leadership and good governance while the third provides the concluding remarks.
