Abstract

This book Basic Logic and Philosophy holds the promise of repositioning and developing the rational faculties of our students and exposing them to the underlying principles of existence. To the intent that these principles will help them to cope effectively with their daily challenges both in private and public lives. It is with strong enthusiasm, love of knowledge and intense desire to impact knowledge that our erudite lecturers from the Department of philosophy under the auspices of the General studies unit Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, have carefully crafted this work. This book is prosaic, seamless and easy to understand for undergraduates from all walks of life. The use of simple English is intentionally applied to engender readability and comprehension to every student. Equally, any general reader will find this work informative, instructive and thought provoking. Basic philosophy and Logic has two sections, section A is an introduction to Philosophy which embodies seven (7) chapters while Section B is the introduction to Logic which embodies logical appurtenances like: introduction to logic, argument, theory of syllogism and fallacies.
